High Wind Kiting
Get as much weight in the harness as possible and use as little brake as possible Pull your A's and B's together to change angle of attack and relieve possible frontaling Use weight shift turns (in the hips, look at side of the wing that is lower) Be careful near the lip, you can launch at any time Check downwind for obstacles before inflating in high winds If it gets out of hand, run towards the wing pulling the brakes until you are holding fabric If you fall, get up immediately and continue to fly/control the glider To disengage wing in high winds pull on the C's with brakes in hand To inflate use less brakes by moving towards glider and a smooth slower pull on the A risers When turning forward lean towards the wind during rotation To stay forward force your chin to the ground If you get picked up, continue to fly the glider and stay off brakes as much as possible |
