The Santa Barbara County Chapter of the American Red Cross is very grateful to all the pilots,
sponsors and organizers of the SBXC Santa Barbara Cross Country Challenge.

The funds raised will support not only the Red Cross relief effort in response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita but also the local programs and services of the Santa Barbara County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Please take a look at some of our achievements as a chapter during
the past year.

To put this in better perspective, our chapter raised $500,000 to cover the expenses of the chapter last year. During the first month after Hurricane Katrina hit, our chapter received $1.5 million in donations from Santa Barbara County specifically for the relief effort! Many of these
gifts came from our donors who normally support the Santa Barbara County Chapter. The
needs are great both nationally and locally. That’s why we are grateful to SBXC for helping us
raise funds for both the disaster and our local chapter.

Again, thank you for participating in the SBXC Santa Barbara Cross Country Challenge. We
